Now that the word is out about the petition Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO) filed 7/16/2010 with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) to revise its net metering tariff and to add a new feed-in tariff (FiT), rumors are circulating that Vectren aka Southern Indiana Gas and Electric or SIGECO may be the next Indiana electric utility to propose a FiT. It's just a rumor since Vectren sources could not confirm any filing in the near future to establish a feed-in tariff. It could just be wishful thinking of distributed generation advocates attending the WIndiana conference last week. Vectren has already proposed to revise its net metering tariff as a part of its electric rate case currently pending before the IURC in Cause No. 43839.
NIPSCO's pre-filed testimony in Cause No. 43922 on 7/19/2010. The pre-filed testimony presented by three company witnesses provide more of the details on their proposed changes to net metering as well as the new proposed FiT.
